She was awarded a full scholarship to study at the University of Toronto after graduating. There she earned her master's degree in theatre and double majored in psychology and social science. Contractor was a participant in the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After a full year, she was awarded the role of lead. The 92 productions she performed received acclaim from Canadian reviewers. The conservatory at Stratford takes eight people with four females, and a handful of other people for a 20 weeks crash course. The role was secured for Contractor for the following series of plays, and she landed Hermia's role for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
